July’s landscaping and lawn care tips and general information on maintaining a healthy landscape.  Summer season is upon us and we will provide some general information on maintaining a healthy lawn and landscape for the summer months.

During summer months a few problems will occur with maintaining a healthy lawn and surrounding landscaping. Generally in the summer months lawns, flowers, trees, etc can become stressed out due to the constant heat. The best way to combat this problem is by proper watering. Lawns and landscape’s need to be watered on an even basis, too much or too little water can damage your lawn and flowers, etc. Once damage occurs it will be difficult to correct during summer months.

Lawns ------- Chemical treatment for July should be an insecticide control or a low nitrogen fertilizer, which will help maintain a healthy and green looking lawn, while help controling summer insect damage. Lawns should be watered no less than every other day, unless we receive rainfall.

Landscape
------- Flowers, trees and plants, etc still need to be watered regularly during summer months. Remember to water your landscape on the same watering guidelines that you follow for your lawn. Flowers may need added watering, especially on hot and humid days, a second watering for flowers is recommended so that they do not dry up.

Spraying for insects is recommended on all evergreens and trees to help prevent damage for insects eating away at leaves, and destroying their health.

Trimming ------- Shrubs and evergreens should start to be trimmed and pruned this month in order for them not to lose the shape, and maintain healthy growth.

Landscape work ------- Landscape projects can still be done during summer months, give our office a call to schedule a free estimate.
